Paul Nathanail

Paul Nathanail has been working in risk based land contamination management and sustainable reuse of brownfields since the 1990s. Over that time he has combined consultancy, research, teaching and service to the land contamination sector. Among other activities, he led the drafting of BS ISO 18504 on sustainable remediation, was the independent Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) for the additional environmental checks around the Grenfell Tower, led the reevaluation under Part 2A of the former gasworks in Walsall and led the development of the Suitable for Use Levels (S4UL) generic assessment criteria. He is past chair of the National Brownfield Forum and of the board of directors of SiLC Register Ltd. He chairs his local neighbourhood forum, conceived the annual 24-hour long RemTechEurope Sustainathon and runs popular social media channels for the contaminated land practitioner. He regularly writes blogs for Landmark and in his spare time he is an emerging  ballroom and latin dancer.
